Function Feature Class (Data Sheets)

Following my previous post on Function Feature Class (FFC) which provided a free list of examples comprising of the different FFCs which can be found here, I have decided to provide some free data sheets for instructors to test learners in this post.

A common question people ask would be “why collect data?“. It is important to do so to (1) make informed decisions on which skill a learner is lacking (i.e. what needs to be the next targeted skill); and (2) note what progress the learner has achieved.

In order to make informed decisions to target a lacking skill (i.e. in this case FFC), the instructor can collect baseline data (i.e. data taken before any teaching/ intervention occured) to see if the learner needs more support in learning function, feature, or class.

Data can be collected after the program has been taught/ after a period of time (i.e. weeks/months) to check the amount of progress the learner has made and/or whether the skill has been maintained or generalised.

Example of the Free Function, Feature, and Class Data Sheets shown.

The instructor can test the child by providing the child with either a fill-in phrase (i.e. 3 things you drink are ____) or ‘wh’ question (i.e. what are 5 things you drink?) according to the child’s level.

You can find a free copy of the data sheets attached. Each data sheets contains examples of functions, features, and class at the side and provides space for up to 5 responses by the learner to be written. You can print multiple copies to test the learner during baseline and intervention.
